This Backpack Changed My Travels

(Quick caveat, I have a V1 model of this backpack)
For years, I’ve operated under the assumption that you need a gigantic piece of luggage to roll around for international trips, thus I brought what was essentially my entire closet, only to use maybe a quarter of what I had packed. With the Pakt Travel Backpack, I’ve become a firm believer in one bag travel, having bought this backpack for a trip to Japan last summer. Needless to say, the well-designed organizational layout and ample space worked perfectly for living and operating out of while hopping city to city hassle-free. During the two weeks, we changed hotels nearly nightly, and having only a single backpack to carry from spot to spot greatly reduced the inconvenience that normally comes with a more involved travel itinerary. My favorite feature is the suitcase-style opening and 50/50 split main compartment, allowing for flexibility in deciding to organize by clean/dirty clothes, clothes/souvenirs and tools, or what have you. I also appreciate having smaller pouches to dedicate to necessities such as spare prescription glasses or extra contact lenses. (I clearly have a fear of being blind while on vacation, based on experience…) Since that Japan trip, I’ve used it many times on small local visits to family and weeks-long trips up the coast. I also plan to use it on a couple of upcoming trips to Japan and The Netherlands, where it will be my exclusive one bag companion. (Additionally, I’ve just placed an order for a pair of 5L slings for my husband and I to use for our everyday !)

Great bag so far….

Will test out in a few weeks in Costa Rica and Panama but very impressed with quality and review upon delivery. Bought 45L and 15L. Have a 30L Nomatic and liking what I see with this so far vs my Nomatic.

FAQs

They are not completely waterproof, but the materials have been treated with a PFC-free DWR (durable water-resistant) coating.

Yes! Both the 35L and 45L Travel Backpack will fit easily in the overhead compartment on most planes.

The 35L Travel Backpack is a soft sided bag, and it will fit under the seat if it is lightly packed.

Our signature carry-on backpacks provide between 35 and 45 liters of storage.

In real-world terms, that's enough for at least 3-5 days in a 35L, and generally over 5 days with a 45L.

Creating a product that will last a lifetime using ethical labor and recycled materials costs a lot.

  • We use only high-quality materials that are also environmentally responsible; and source or design hardware that will stand up to your globe-trotting ways for years and years.
  • Standing behind what we create and sell costs. We stand behind every bag with a satisfaction and lifetime guarantee. The cheaper way to go is to sell a product with a short or non-existent refund policy.
  • Responsibly-sourced costs. We ensure we pay fair wages and only work with top notch manufacturing partners that value people and the environment the same way we do.
  • Details, details, details. You would probably be blown away (or at least extremely bored) sitting in on one of our design reviews in which we nitpick the tiniest details in an effort to make sure every thread and detail is done properly. This takes time and therefore money.
  • It may just be another product to some, but each Pakt product requires A LOT of effort to create, refine and produce. These bags are made up of between 200-300 individual components (everything from each zipper pull and label to pieces of fabric cut to be assembled) and requires over 200 steps to assemble (each step of the assembly line).

Most of our peers have a full product line with multiple bags, and there’s no way they could afford to put as much effort into each of those bags as we have with our products. We choose to grow intentionally, giving each product the time and attention required to deliver a perfect product that we could be proud of for everything that went into making it.
