Happy Birthday Pakt!
On November 7th, 2017, one year ago today, we launched the Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign for our Pakt One. What a year it’s been!
After months of prep and very little sleep during the final days, we flipped the switch on the campaign, not really knowing what we were getting ourselves into. An hour later we knew we were in for a ride, and it’s it’s been an adventure every day since.

I teamed up with The Minimalists, Sprout, and Matt D’Avella to relaunch the Getaway bag I had designed, and The Minimalists talked about in their documentary. We all agreed we would tackle this as a project and decide later if we would continue Pakt as a brand. Just a month into the campaign, we realized we were on to something with the potential to be much bigger than just a bag and made the decision to keep running with it.
Last November 7th, Pakt was just myself and a couple of Saras. The campaign took off like a rocket and immediately we knew we needed help. On November 8th Melissa, who now leads customer service and operations, joined us and we’ve been growing ever since. There were days, and weeks, that we would happily forget if we could, but overall this past year has been a lot of fun.

We’ve now connected with thousands of appreciative customers and fans that all inspire and motivate us. Behind the scenes, we’ve built systems and laid the groundwork to allow us to grow while staying true to our vision of a responsible company that prides itself on creating quality products that both serve our customers and keep the health of the environment in mind. When we think back to all that we’ve done, it’s actually hard to believe it’s only been a year. At this rate, it makes me excited to see how far we can go in 2, 5, and 10 years!

So what’s next? Of course, as a brand we can’t rely on a single product in three colors forever. A huge part of the work we’ve been doing behind the scenes has been developing our next products. Speaking of… we have a big announcement coming just days from now! Stay tuned and in the meantime, brew yourself a cup of coffee, a really good cup of coffee (Hint #1). After we announce it, you will no longer think of Pakt as just a bag company (Hint #2).
