A bag with a cult following.
A bag with a cult following.
After the original bag appeared in the documentary, Minimalism, Malcolm Fontier and The Minimalists received thousands of vocal requests to bring the bag back. In 2017, they teamed up with Sprout Studios and videographer Matt D'Avella to introduce a new, improved version – The One. With the help of nearly 7,000 backers and $2M later, the bag was successfully crowdfunded, and a brand was born.

Great bag that I can't wait to take a longer trip with!
I ordered my bag this year during COVID for some strange reason, when my travel plans were canceled. However, I drive weekly between two residences for work and also took a 2,000 mile week-long road trip and have been using this bag for these car trips. It worked really well with my travel cubes. I love the shape, weight and style of it. The zippered pockets are also very handy and it's easy to throw stuff in and still stay somewhat organized with them. I typically put my shoes and toiletry bag on one side and clothes in the other. Great design, thank you!

We Love Ours!
We got 2 Pakt bags a year and a half ago. We got to use them quite a few times in 2019 until the COVID issue arrived this year and we can’t wait to be out and about with them again. My hub loves his - he chose the black one, and I love mine-the gray one. The bags are made of a high quality material and they look sharp. We didn’t find them to be too heavy because these are after all, minimalist bags. They’re not supposed to be crammed full of a lot of extras. That said... they hold a lot, just enough actually. The different sections work out very well. The only drawback I can think of, and it’s honestly not that big of a deal breaker is that if you wish to lock them up for safety, etc. you need 3 travel locks per bag, 1 for each section. These are the best luggage and our fave that we’ve ever owned. We’re considering purchasing the new backpacks too.

Great bag, but heavy
This is probably one of the best bags that I have ever owned. I am a bigger guy so I generally need a bigger back to fit my profile. I used this as an everyday carry for work and travel. I have enough space to fit an extra set of clothes as well as laptop and folders with paperwork. It is well made, sturdy, fabric is noticeably dense, stitching is solid, and looks good. My only negative is that its a bit heavy, but understandable considering how good quality the material is. I wouldn't want the company to make it lighter at the expense of quality material. I look forward to more products in the future. I would definitely pay a little more knowing I would get a good quality item.
The Pakt One is not completely waterproof, but the materials are water-resistant across all colorways, and the Black Pakt One has water-resistant YKK zippers.
All colorways of the Pakt One are built to last, but the Black bag has a more technical/structured feel and is the only colorway with water resistant zippers.
We have used the Pakt One as a personal item on Spirit (and other airlines that charge for carry-ons) when it’s packed lightly. A fully stuffed Pakt One may not fit within their maximum personal item size limit.
We're glad you asked! The short version: we source quality materials and work with only top notch manufacturing partners to create a product that is going to have a long life. Check out this blog post where we go a bit more in depth.
