We’ve been working on something related to Pakt that we’re proud to reveal. So, what is this exciting other project? 100% plastic-free packaging! It may not sound like much, but as advocates for the environment, it’s something we’ve put a lot of work into and are super stoked with the way that it's turned out.
Malcolm explaining the packaging prototype to our manufacturing partners in Vietnam and the need to avoid all plastic packaging. Claire, our factory’s manager, then turned to the factory staff and used her own “X” sign along with some Mandarin and Vietnamese, “No plastic, ever!”
Single-use plastics account for about 50% of all plastic products, but they’re the majority of the plastics found floating in our seas. These plastics find their way into the ocean whether they are disposed of properly or not. In fact, an estimated 5-12 million metric tons of plastic waste enters our oceans annually.
We believe that one of the only ways to reduce the amount of single-use plastic pollution in the environment is to not use any to begin with- that means when you get your Pakt bag, there will be no bubble wrap, no plastic bags, no air pillows, no styrofoam. Most importantly, it means no extra plastic to land in the ocean.
